here comes summer

the dreaded summer nears.
nights are sweaty,
clothes feel too heavy.
the familiar drag of extra-flesh
burns down,
the joys of midnight feasts
and cravings satisfied
twinkle out under visions of bumpy thighs,
and purple-striped stomachs.
but this year, something stirs
in the bikini-body biosphere.
the tanned and toned
find themselves among a rainbow,
a soft and sundry celebration
of shame-deniers, self-adorers
and soul-satisfiers.
its the kingdom, in all its human glory.
