whisper

she exhaled,
and they drew circles in her breath,
held a glass to it
and spilled the droplets on a banner,
waved it through angry streets
and plastered it on angry windows.
her words were hammered on keys,
bellowed in crowds,
sprayed onto brick,
scraped into bark –
bounced across concert halls,
scrawled across notepads.
she knew nothing
of her might
yet she was
so mighty.
